(2) Inhale, Exhale

Last week, we were asked to have a power point presentation about "How to Persuade People."
Today is going to be our presentation. I admit, I'm nervous because: 1. I haven't presented a powerpoint presentation before. Actually I have presented before but it wasn't a real presentation because I just read the things I put in the slides and I didn't follow the rules in making presentations. 2. I'm really not used to presenting. Since elementary, I seldom report in front of people. When we have a group report, I would ask a fellow groupmate to report instead of me.

Also, we're going to have a poetry recital in English later. What a day.

I hope I overcome my fear of reporting and speaking in front of many people later.
Good luck to me!

(2) Colors Matter

Powerpoint. I think this was one of my favorite programs as an elementary student (my most favorite was paint). I don't know why but I enjoy opening it when I'm bored.
Before I wasn't aware of the Do's and Don'ts in making Powerpoint presentations until Sir Tom discussed this topic.

While on this topic, I remembered my elementary classmate who has a codename "colorful girl." Colorful girl loves Barbie and flowers and things related to that. When she makes a project, her usual output would be page full of colors which is sometimes, too messy.

One time, in computer class, we were asked to make a webpage using HTML then we were asked to choose our own colors for the text and the background picture. I didn't see her work but I hope it's not like this:

I hope I could tell her the things she SHOULD know.

Because of my classmate, I have known something I should not do in making presentations and designing things.  :)

(2) Hi Sir. Please read this :)

I visited Moodle a yesterday and checked on the course, CS1. The looked through my previous quizzes and activities. I clicked Short Quiz #2 (HTML). THEN THERE WAS ONE SURPRISE:

I WAS LIKE OOOH MYY GLOOOOB! I WAS PANICKING (well actually, until now). I HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO DO THEN THIS CAME UP!

SO HERE'S THE EXPLANATION:

The time was running out and I was nearly finished with this. Then when Wanda shouted "1 minute left!" I immediately uploaded my work. While uploading, the web page went to the home page of Moodle. I checked CS1 then I saw that *poof* the quizzes were gone. I prayed for my submission to be uploaded. Well, I guess that didn't work.

So as soon as we open our computers in the Com. Lab., the first thing I'm going to do is send my submission.

(2) This is Not A Boring Blog Post

In order for us to do things correctly, we have to follow instructions. Computers also have to follow a set of instructions to do certain things correctly and these instructions are called protocols.

Of course there are different set of instructions for different actions. These are some of the types of protocols:

  • IP or Internet protocol-protocol used for the internet
  • TCP or Transmission Control Protocol
  • FTP or File Transfer Protocol
  • SMTP or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
  • HTTP or Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
To avoid this post from being boring, here's a joke:
Yomomma so big, she’s got her own OSI layer between L3 and L4, because the Transport layer can’t handle her. #protolol

I got that from this websiteI don't get it but if you get it, please tell me so I could laugh.

(2) Hot Issues!

In our world, people want to be updated to celebrity buzz and latest news around the world. In these news, ssues cannot be absent. Like Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's breakup which caused Miley's change. (ew) There are always issues everywhere: at school, at your office, in the showbiz world and also in ICT.

One of the popular issues is hacking. This is done when someone has an unauthorized access to the website. Hacking causes another type of issue, DOS or Denial of Service. This makes a network resource unavailable to its intended users.

The most frequent nowadays is cyberbullying where a person sends hurtful messages to another person. This is very dangerous because it sometimes cause psychological effects to the person being bullied or somethimes, suicide. That's one of the reasons why the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012  or the Anti-Cybercrime Law was implemented. It secures all the internet users from harmful persons in the internet. This makes the internet a safer place than it is before.

Other issues are malware, flooding, spamming, computer addiction and digital divide which is the discrepancy between people with access and people without access to ICT.

We must avoid these issues by being friendly and having proper etiquette on the web.

(2) Students' BFF

Moodle Icon
That moment of panic when you don't remember something from your teacher's Powerpoint Presentation. You wished that you could have gotten a copy of the PPT. Well, us students do not have to worry about that anymore.

We're so lucky to have Moodle in PSHS BRC. It really helps us students and also the teachers a lot. From reviewing the lessons to announcing about projects and assignments, we can do all of that in Moodle.
You can also message your classmates and even you teacher if you want to say or ask something.

Moodle has been a really useful website especially in the subject, Computer Science. We submit activities and quizzes by using this. We should be thankful for having this in our school.
